I found that the words and images of the two cards I picked, and the time spent talking
about them and making the list was a wonderful preparation for starting to paint.
There was a whole ground work, both conscious and unconscious, all ready laid
down and ready for when the paints came out. And it was such fun. And really
interesting to choose two colours from each of the cards and see later how they
were blended into the painting in very different ways but all in some sort of echo,
which was at the same time a new creation. Wonderful! HF, Tokyo

How do you see yourself in relationship to your significant other?
These card selections show just how different we can be from each
other. Cards were chosen face down
A "night and day" of difference can bring a relationship into balance
so long as we don't expect our significant other to be "night" when
his energy is fiery orange. Life would be very dull if we were the
same "color" as our partner.
We hope you want to laugh. We sure did after drawing the human figure in a Genesis art session exploring intuitive humor.
To feel competent as a humor artist does not require knowing your chiaroscuro (lights from your darks), or replicating the proportions of a perfect wooden dummy. However, forgetting to put feet at the bottomof legs or making legs that no human being could possibly dance on can be pretty hilarious.Inherent in the the lack of "skill," your own attempts at art when
genuinely sourced from the heart and soul can make you laugh out
loud. And get better at seeing the way the body really looks. You'll see body balance with fresh eyes after you pick a Genesis Card at the end of your art session. As we did here.

In 1996 I was sitting in a peaceful workshop space in Nagano meditating with the extraordinary American spiritual teacher Drunvalo Melchizedek in a way that was set up to summon our angels. I couldn't see an angel or feel one around me much as I tried, so I thought I would try to draw it out. Energy is the picture that resulted. I was surprised that two angels appeared on either side of "me" in this picture. For the next year I saw this picture as an interesting rendering from the imagination of me and these other beings. But that was it.
Here's my 10 year old daughter Mirai on the right taken December 31st, 2007, 11 years after drawing "Energy."
Look at the flame by Mirai's leg and the outline of the green angel figures. Look too at Mirai's bent knee, at the bulge in the pocket of Kim's lfriend and the bulge around the angel's belly. I don't know how this photographer did it but a pleasant young stranger we stumbled across on a hiking trail sure did capture some very strong elements found in the Energy picture – without any knowledge of the cards' existence. Every time I look at these pictures I think what an extraordinary world we live in. There are so many planes of awareness that we can have access to through the imagination, through dreams, through visualization, art, poetry and music.
